Mark Jen lost his job at Google
You probably remember Mark Jen, a new Google employee who compared on his blog the benefits offered by his new company and by his former one, Microsoft (read my previous notes here and there).
According to an article published by CNET News.com on February 8, “Google blogger has left the building,” Jen is no longer an employee at Google. He apparently left the company on January 28.
There are many legal differences about job protection between the U.S. and Europe, but even in France, I bet Jen would also have been fired.
Imagine — and this is only an example — that an employee leaves a British bank to work for a new one, and that he starts to criticize his new employer on his personal blog during his ‘probationary’ period.
Do you think he would have kept his job? I don’t think so. What about you?
